Our mission:
The objective of this organization shall be to develop the appreciation of homebrew and commercial beer, and to promote knowledge of the various arts of brewing.

The Kansas City Bier Meisters was founded in 1983. We are the oldest home brewing club in Kansas or Missouri, and the 2nd oldest in the country. We currently have around 100 paid members, over 1300 members in our FaceBook group, and typically have about 30 to 40 active members at our monthly meetings. Our membership is open to home brewers but we also welcome non-brewing beer enthusiasts from Kansas City and the surrounding areas. KCBM is open to beer brewers at all levels, beginning, intermediate or advanced.

Our regular club meetings are held on the third Friday of each month (except for February and December) to share beer tastings and exchange brewing knowledge. We hope you will bring a 6-pack or growler of your favorite home brew or commercial beer to share (cider and mead are welcome too). You can choose to have your beer tasted and critiqued during the meeting by our members, or bring beer to share before/after the meeting. If you don’t have any homebrew, just bring your favorite craft brew.

Quality feedback is important, and KCBM has a large number (approximately 33% of our members) of certified beer judges through the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP). At last count, we have many Certified, 6 National, 1 Master and 2 Grand Master ranked judges.

In addition to our monthly meetings, we also host a multitude of club-related events, such as big-brew day, Maifest, Oktoberfest, and a Christmas social. You are welcome to visit if you are potentially interested in joining. Don’t be shy, it’s only beer!

We meet monthly so check our Calendar or Facebook site for details.
