NOTE: As announced during the February meeting, we will be conducting judging sessions during the week/weekend of our normal May meeting (so there will not be a club meeting for the month of May). As a result, we are moving up the 2021-22 Board Elections by one month. We made the initial call for Board Nominations during the February meeting, and are currently accepting nominations up to and during the March 19 business meeting. The election will be held during the business meeting on April 16, 2021. If you or someone you know is interested in being on the KCBM Board for the 2021-22 year, please contact Jay Highfill (KCBM Elections Chairman) at [email protected].
FINAL NOTE: You still have the opportunity to participate in the following KCBM38 scale-up categories:
- Transport Brewery (Custom Style 35A) – This scale-up is for an English ESB (BJCP 11C). The winner gets a 3 barrel (100 gallon) scale up with Transport Brewery in Shawnee, Kansas. Transport also plans to fill a couple of casks to be poured with a beer engine on the launch day. What a fantastic opportunity to have your ESB on tap, with a side-by-side comparison of cask and conventional tap serving methods!
Crane Brewing (Custom Style 36A) – This scale-up is for a Kellerbier (BJCP 7C). The winner gets to scale up their recipe at Crane Brewing in Raytown, Missouri. Please specify if this is a Pale or Amber Kellerbier.
Servaes Brewing Company (Custom Style 37A) – Show Us Your Adjuncts … At Servaes Brewing Co., we LOVE to brew with all kinds of interesting adjuncts. You’re only limited by your own creativity! Don’t feel constrained by traditional beer adjuncts but also keep in mind how your adjuncts come together to make a tasty beer. Beer must be one of the following base styles: Standard American Beer (BJCP Category 1*), Scottish Ale (14*), Irish Beer (15*), Dark British Beer (16*), Pale American Ale (18*), Amber and Brown American Beer (19*), American Porter and Stout (20*), IPA (21*), European Sour Ale (23*), Gose (27A), Fruit Beer (29*), Spiced Beer (30*). Beer must have AT LEAST one adjunct, and the adjunct(s) must be listed on the entry’s ‘Brewer’s Specifics’ along with the base style.
KC Bier Co (Custom Style 38A) – This scale-up is for a German Ale or Lager (no sours). Please specify the style and include your recipe when you drop off or ship your beer to us.
